I made it to the finish line. Hooray! What to say...what to say? Well, here are the things that I think are great and will continue to use: Bloglines, Blogger, Flickr, and various Podcasting sites. Oh and of course, YouTube. I use that all the time. Rollyo is pretty cool as well.

My least favorite exercises were with Technorati and Del.icio.us. I understand how they can be useful in certain instances (research for example) but I can't see myself using them on any sort of regular basis.

I did like checking out the Web 2.0 Award nominess. There's some really cool stuff out there even tho' I was starting to get sensory overload at that point.

All in all, this was a cool learning experience. Annnnndddd we get a groovy, high tech MP3 player out of the deal? Win...win...

Netlibrary blah blah blink

Well, I can see how Netlibrary can be very useful, especially in doing research but I don't think I'll ever want to read a novel on this way. Although the audiobooks aspect is really, really cool.

Podcasting

I added a few NPR podcasts to my bloglines account. This seems pretty cool. Really, it just makes me love my bloglines account even more. Is there nothing that it can't do?!

I started looking through the Web 2.0 award winners when I came across Google's new Open Source Word Processor, Writely.com. I tried it out and it's worlds ahead of Zoho Writer. I blogged my document no problem. See below:

See? Now THIS is what I'm talking about. Google...is my hero. I don't care if they become evil, corporate monsters. Their code just does what it's supposed to. And it's clear & precise.

Take that Zoho Writer!

Some other websites that I've discovered through Learning 2.0 that I think I'll keep using in the future include Bloglines, Rollyo and Flickr

There seem to be some interesting online calendars as well. The winner and 3rd place look like they're the best ones. But it can get to the point of tech overload. Maybe writing a list down on a piece of paper isn't all that bad after all.

Zoho Writer (#18)

Well, the only problem is that the Zoho Writer won't publish to my blog. A couple other people have noted that as well. I saved a public document to see if I could hyperlink in that way.

UPDATE: Nope. I guess I can't just use the demo...

UPDATE #2: Still not working. I'll try again tomorrow but if this is any sort of indication of the site, not terribly impressive.

UPDATE #3: I waited a day & it still won't publish. Don't know what the problem is. It saved my blogger account info. Whatever, I'll just use Writely!

I do love Wikis. They can be a great storehouse of knowledge. The Princeton Public Library's wiki looks like a good model for what can be done.

I don't know... all of this just seems like common sense to me. Technology's changing and we have to change with it. Are there really that many people out there who are so unwilling to shift their thinking?

Technorati's cool in an abstract sense but you really have to wade through alot less than useful info. Just b/c someone knows how to add a tag to their blog doesn't mean that what they're saying is all that worthwhile. I don't know, maybe it's just me...I've got a headache anyway.

Yes, you can find useful info but it seems the more you dig into these things, the more watered down & less reliable the info is. I'm just saying that it's not something I'm very likely to ever use.

Golly! Bloglines is amazing! It's like having a personal assistant to keep my informed of all my interests. So far I haven't been too impressed of Feedster or Technorati. They seem unnecessary but I guess I should try some more searches.

I'd understood the theory behind RSSs but had no idea that they could be so useful and practical. Hooray for Bloglines!
